Team Turtle celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 at its Corporate Office in Pune and Manufacturing facility in Karnataka. Taking advantage of the modern video conferencing, both the teams joined the event online.
Praveen Holannaver took up the responsibility of showcasing Yogasanas, from Turtle Turbines manufacturing facility in Karnataka and Vijay Dumbali took the opportunity to demonstrate Pranayama, joining from Turtle Turbines Corporate office in Pune.
Praveen Holannaver, an enthusiastic Yogasana practitioner, initiated the yoga session by guiding participants through Omkar chants and warm-up exercises followed by few basic yoga postures. Instructions on maintaining proper posture and executing movements were provided by a Vijay Dumbali, while participants followed along with various stretches. The session included a focus on breathing and body alignment.
Yoga Philosophy and Longevity
The contributions of Patanjali to yoga, particularly Ashtanga Yoga, and the potential for human longevity were elaborated upon by Vijay Dumbali. It was suggested that many people do not realize the full capabilities of the human body, and the importance of having a long-term health goal was stressed. The aspiration to live to 106 years was shared, indicating that setting such goals can motivate individuals to maintain their health.
Understanding the Eight Limbs of Yoga
The eight limbs of yoga were detailed, focusing on Yama, Niyama, Asana, and Pranayama as essential components of a holistic lifestyle. The body’s structure from Annamaya Kosha to Anandamaya Kosha was explained using analogies, comparing it to a computer with various hardware components, software and operating system. The electrical power that runs the computer was compared with the Prana in a human body. Vijay Dumbali explained that pranamaya enhances the overall Prana in human body, residing in Prnanamaya Kosha. The importance of Pranayama in facilitating energy flow throughout the body was emphasized, along with the concept of five prana vayus and their pathways.

The significance of Pranayama was explained, likening it to essential daily activities such as eating and bathing. The session featured an introduction to deep breathing and Kapalbhati, with a focus on proper technique and the benefits of regular practice.

Vijay Dumbali explained that OM represents a primary sound from which the universe was created, and that yoga practices, including Pranayama, are rooted in scientific principles. The significance of maintaining proper posture in yoga and the role of Shavasana in relaxing the body’s energy were highlighted.
